The 3 Week Fitness and Weight Loss Program

The fitness and weight loss news that you have been waiting for is finally here—and it may very well change your life. I can just hear you saying, “If you are talking about exercise forget it—I don’t have time—it’s too hard and takes too long.” Not any more.

Dr. Glen Gaesser has come to the rescue with a breakthrough diet fitness program. He has developed a whole new paradigm for exercise and weight management—and it may very well change your life. You don’t have to spend most meals wishing for more to eat or spend hours working out.

There’s a much easier way, thanks to groundbreaking research by Glenn Gaesser, Ph.D., an exercise physiologist at the University of Virginia and fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. In a sneak peak at his new book, The Spark 3 Week Fitness and Weight Loss Program we'll show you a whole new way of exercising and eating that will convince your metabolism to stay in fat fighting mode all day long-that's right-all day long.

Here's how it works.

Instead of grinding your way through the traditional 30 to 40 minute exercise sessions several times a week, you divide your fitness-weight loss routines into ten-minute chunks of activity-what Gaesser calls "exercise sparks."

The beauty of this fitness-weight loss system is two fold.
    1. You can work these quick segments in during your lunch hour, just before or after     work-anytime that you can scrape 10 minutes together.
    2. The results come far quicker than the traditional 3-4 times per week regime.

THE REVOLUTIONARY RESEARCH
Gaesser recruited 35 women and 5 men, ages 32 to 68; some were out of shape, others were semi-regular exercisers. He put them on a program of 15 ten-minute sparks per week.

They were also instructed to eat more fiber, reduce fat intake and eat only when truly hungry. He then compared their results with those of other studies where the exercisers did 20 to 60 minutes of cardio plus strength and flexibility training three to five times per week.

The Spark approach won hands down.

Dr. Gaesser's subjects lost an average of 7 pounds in just three weeks and kept the weight off-a huge improvement over traditional approaches.

What Gaesser discovered is that dipping in and out of high-energy quickie fitness sessions stimulates the physiological processes that keep your metabolism in high gear. It's not simply the exercise itself, but the stop-start approach that turns your body's fat burning processes on more often.

Each spark stimulates the release of more fat-mobilizing hormones, in turn making more fat available to burn. The news gets even better. Sparks also trigger the release of increased levels of the anti-aging growth hormone. This hormone helps burn fat and keeps muscles and tissues strong-so boosting it is a sure way to stay looking and feeling young.

THE AFTERBURN
During each high-intensity spark, your body initially draws on its quick-energy carbohydrate stores for fuel. Afterward, more fat is burned to keep your engine running. This is known as the "afterburn" effect, and it's key to losing weight.

The typical longer fitness-weight loss session doesn't require as much fast energy, so it doesn't produce much of an after burn. With sparks, the payoff is better. As you gain fitness, your body becomes even more hormonally fine-tuned, improving your respiratory quotient (known as your RQ).

Your RQ reflects your body's ability to choose fat over carbs for energy throughout the day, not just during a workout. By shifting the ratio, you'll be in better shape, because your body will draw from fat stores (think "love handles" and thighs).

No matter what your fitness level, you can transform your body in just three weeks with this scientifically tested system. Just mix and match 10 cardio, 3 strength and 3 stretch sparks. You can do less or more depending on your present condition level and goals.
