Human growth hormone. Miracle supplement or marketing hype?

    Dear Friend,

HGH, commonly known as Human Growth Hormone is currently a 'hot' topic with some people interested in anti-aging. Other than HGH injections, (which is very expensive and is only available by prescription) the two most popular options promoted for raising HGH are:

    • HGH precursors

    • Homeopathic HGH in spray form

It should be noted that HGH itself does not provide any direct benefits. Rather it is just simply the messenger as are most hormones. It carries a message to the liver to signal it to produce various substances, primarily Insulin Growth Factor - 1, commonly known as IGF-1.

IGF-1 is the substance that enables you to determine whether you are producing adequate HGH naturally. IGF-1 remains quite constant whereas HGH is produced by the pituitary gland in bursts thus making it virtually impossible to get reliable readings.

HGH precursors are normally blends of amino acids which can help stimulate the pituitary gland to increase the production of growth hormone. These will sometimes work in some younger people if taken in large doses but rarely work in people over 40 years of age. The long term implications of taking large doses of amino acids over an extended period is yet to be established.

Homeopathic HGH preparations which are generally marketed in spray form contain minute amounts of rGH which is called recombinant growth hormone. Although it is promoted as HGH it is not actually HGH but actually rGH. (It is not possible to buy genuine HGH these days as all genuine growth hormone is synthesized. It used to be extracted from cadavers but that practice has been discontinued.)

The homeopathic growth hormone sprays are ineffective for two reasons. One is that the dose rate is too small based on a maximum non prescription dose by law of 2,000 nanograms which is about 1/10,000th of common injectable doses, and secondly that the HGH molecule is to big to pass through the mucous membrane of the mouth. Also the growth hormone molecule is very fragile and easily damaged which is why the genuine product is supplied in a refrigerated powder or small vials.

The benefits claimed by the promoters of these products are based on the short term gains from old studies using the injectable form of human growth hormone which is like comparing apples with oranges.

If your liver is not functioning at its optimal level no form of HGH therapy will be effective.

Warning: You should be very wary of human growth hormone HGH or IGF-1 supplements. If they did work they could be dangerous to your health, as could the injections. What is not generally understood is that although gains in IGF-1 levels can be made quite easily over the short term by a number of different methods, over the long term those gains are likely to be lost and you will end up in worse health than before you started plus your aging process will likely accelerate.

Over a period of time the levels of IGF-1 which is the measurement used for HGH generally fall back to levels lower than they were before starting the growth hormone treatment... and that is with continued and increased dosing.

There is much about HGH and IGF-1 which is not being said...

Two years ago before Prof. Dr A. Munem became closely associated with XTend-Life we conducted a study on a natural substance with very high growth factors designed to increase levels of IGF-1. We were investigating the practicality of producing it and adding it to our product range.

Our chairman Warren Matthews participated in the study as he insists on testing and using all products that we produce. (Unless it is one specifically for women!).

The growth hormone study was very successful in the short term. Although Warren's IGF-1 levels were at that of a healthy 25 year old (he is 56) he was still able to raise it a further 24% in the first 30 days.

However, rather than stopping the study at that point with the excellent results we continued it longer as Dr Munem predicted that the ultimate result of the study would be quite different from the initial results!

    Practical experience validates the Prediction!

After 90 days Warren's growth hormone levels dropped back to where they were before starting. Other people in the study had their levels drop back to LOWER than they were before they started.

This is because the natural balance of HGH/IGF-1 production had been interfered with and caused the natural production systems within the body to shut down.

After combining this practical experience with other research we decided that because of the risks associated with this type of product that it was not in XTend-Life's customer's best interest and so we stopped the study. Even though this product would have outperformed the current 'raft' of human growth hormone products on the market it would not in our opinion have been an 'honest' product.

In summary, be very cautious about these types of growth hormone products no matter how much they are 'hyped'. You can raise and maintain your HGH levels quite well naturally by using quality multi nutrient (not just multi mineral/vitamin) supplements and maintaining a sensible diet and a modest amount of regular exercise. Our chairman Warren Matthews is living testimony of this.

What can be done to slow down the aging process?

It's not as hard as you may think. The first thing that you must do is take a quality broad spectrum natural supplement to help fill in the nutrient 'gaps' that everyone has. In this regard there is no better supplement on the market today which will help achieve that objective than XTend-Life Total Balance.

You should always remember however, that if you are serious about slowing down your aging process that there is no magic 'potion' supplement or hormone that will on its own help you achieve your objective.

You must include good lifestyle changes with sensible diet and reasonable exercise. It is just as important to make sure that you are aware of what you should NOT eat as well as what you should eat. As a rule of thumb, if it is in a packet or is processed in any way... don't eat it.

For the moment the best protocol that we know of for slowing down your aging process is to take XTend-Life Total Balance. It is the only known scientific supplement that provides all the essential nutrients synergistically in just one tablet.
